Maritime Infrared Target Detection Using a Dual-Mode Background Model

With the rapid development of marine business, intelligent detection ship targets has become key to safety. However, it is difficult accurately detect maritime infrared due severe sea clutter interference in strong wind waves or dim scenes. To adapt diverse environments, a dual-mode background model proposed for target detection. According global contrast image, scene divided into surface with violent changes and stable changes. In first stage, preliminary suitable steadily changing scenes proposed. The pixel-level foreground mask generated through block filter posterior probability criterion. Moreover, learning rate parameter adjusted using results two adjacent frames. second highly fluctuating local correlation feature used enhance frame. experimental different show that method better performance than other comparison algorithms.
